The backend is for authorized staff to add, edit and manage datasets, metadata, dashboards and user permissions.

Security reminder: Do not share assigned credentials. Permissions will be reviewed and some rights reduced to strengthen system security.

Publish workflow tip: Remember: datasets must be published from the backend to appear on the frontend. Use staging or preview environments where available before making content public.

Best Practices & Notes

  • Use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication if available.
  • Limit user permissions to the minimum required for their role (principle of least privilege).
  • Keep DSDs and metadata complete to improve discoverability and interoperability (SDMX recommended fields).
  • Test publishing in a staging environment before making datasets public.
  • Retain a changelog for dataset updates and schema changes.
