Reports to: Director Statistical Services
Job Purpose
The job holder will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and effective management of all technical, administrative and operational activities within the province.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop a comprehensive work plan for the province in line with the Agency’s annual workplan on censuses and surveys.
- Manage the Provincial Office, providing leadership and direction to the Provincial team.
- Ensure that all censuses and surveys within the province meet the specified deadlines and target response rates.
- Supervise and assure quality during the undertaking of censuses and surveys in the province.
- Ensure timely submission of provincial reports to Head Office.
- Timely submit budget for the province to Head Office.
- Effectively manage finance, administrative and human resource aspects of the province.
- Staff mentoring, supervision and performance management.
- Participate in, initiate and facilitate stakeholder meetings at provincial level.
- Create linkages and networks within the province aimed at boosting relations with relevant stakeholders including Ministries, Departments and Agencies, business organizations and non-state actors.
Qualifications and Experience
a) A first degree in:
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Operations Research and Statistics
- Population Studies and Demography
- or equivalent with a quantitative bias.
b) A Master’s degree in:
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Operations Research and Statistics
- Population Studies and Demography
- or equivalent with a quantitative bias.
c) Have at least 5 years’ working experience as a Statistician.
