The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT), in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, has officially launched the 2025 Zimbabwe Social Registry Survey (ZISO). This national initiative aims to collect household-level data to establish a comprehensive Zimbabwe Social Registry.
Purpose of the Social Registry
The registry is designed to:
- Serve as a unified data system for planning, implementing, and monitoring social programs.
- Strengthen social protection, poverty reduction, and inclusive development.
Benefits of the Registry
It will help:
- Identify households for social protection and development programs.
- Improve fairness and transparency in targeting, reducing duplication and leakages.
- Promote coordination among government bodies and development partners.
- Support evidence-based policymaking and program evaluation.

Enumerators will gather information on:
- Demographics
- Education
- Employment
- Housing
- Land ownership
- Access to services
- Economic activities
- Household vulnerabilities
This data will enhance service delivery and support Zimbabwe’s progress toward Vision 2030.
