ZIMSTAT, in collaboration with the National Competitiveness Commission, releases the National Competitiveness Baseline Survey Finding

The 2025 National Competitiveness Baseline Survey (NCBS) establishes Zimbabwe’s first domesticated competitiveness baseline indicators, anchored on the World Economic Forum-Future of Growth Framework and its four pillars: Innovativeness, Inclusiveness, Sustainability and Resilience. Based on executive perceptions, Zimbabwe’s overall competitiveness score for 2025 stood at 58.5 out of 100.

Pillar performance: Inclusiveness pillar recorded the highest competitiveness score (61.5 out of 100), driven mainly by workplace equal-opportunity practices in hiring and promotion. Innovativeness scored 59.1, anchored by education-to-industry skills alignment, though weighed down by low competitive intensity in several service sectors and restrictive foreign direct investment rules.
