On the Launch of the National Migration Data Strategy, 2025-2030
It is both an honour and a privilege to stand before you today as we launch Zimbabwe’s first-ever National Migration Data Strategy (NMDS) 2025–2030. This is a historic milestone. For the first time, our nation has developed a comprehensive, action-oriented, and participatory framework to guide migration data collection, management, and utilization.
Migration is not a peripheral issue it is central to our national development, regional integration, and global cooperation. The NMDS is therefore more than a technical document; it is a strategic instrument that will shape how we understand, govern, and harness migration for inclusive growth.
