Poverty Statistics Objectives

1.  Estimate private consumption expenditure and disposable income of the household sector
   2. Compile the production account of the agricultural sector
   3. Study income/expenditure disparities among socio-economic groups
   4. Estimate the contribution of the informal sector to GDP in Zimbabwe
   estimate the size of household transfer incomes within and outside the country
   5. Calculate weights for the Consumer Price Index (CPI)
   6. Calculate the poverty line, measure the poverty rate and inequality
   7. Provide data useful to formulate national policies for social welfare programmes
   8. Obtain data for poverty mapping
   9. Obtain data useful in measuring the demographic dividend for Zimbabwe
