The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) urges the public to be vigilant and cautious of individuals falsely claiming to be representatives of ZIMSTAT or the Ministry of Home Affairs who visit private households to request National Identity particulars under the pretense of preparing for an upcoming Census Count.
ZIMSTAT does not conduct unannounced visits to households requesting personal identification without proper authorization. All legitimate ZIMSTAT officers conducting official duties can be identified through the following:
✅ National Identity Card
✅ Government Identity Card
✅ Official Letter from ZIMSTAT
✅ Branded ZIMSTAT Shirt or T-shirt
Any individuals failing to provide these credentials should be immediately reported to the nearest police station for verification.
